2025: Earth x Fashion

We’re officially riding the 2025 wave, stepping into February as new versions of ourselves. What style are you embodying to start this year? By the end of the year we’ll be different people, evolved by all that life had to give us, and take from us. It’s comforting to see that the collective trend is to get back in touch with nature, in a deeper way. Now, our style has evolved to be prepared for a hike at a moments notice: Gorp-core (granola, oatmeal, raisins & peanuts) the likely snack when outdoors, or hiker-core. There’s nothing more grounding than the good ol’ out doors. It’s a market that we haven’t tapped into since the start of the Patagonia brand! Even then, it was based in color aesthetics and bringing a bright light to nature that signified adventure and bravery. We’re fed up and it seems like there’s always something coming up that discourages us from being able to focus on those vacations we want to take, whether its the ski trip or you’re looking forward to the natural springs. Gorpcore has us embodying this aesthetic going to the coffee shop because we’re living and breathing NATURE. We need NATURE. We fiend for the NATURE. Why? Well because its election year and we are again going through it. We need to get grounded and touch grass. We’re like, where’s my carhartt? I need to get in touch with my humble side. We’re wearing our hikers best to be ready at a moments notice for your friend to say “hey, you tryna hit the park?” We need neutral earth tones right now, we need peace.

We’re also coming out of a deep winter, arctic temperatures that have made me wish I was a bear because I’d rather sleep through this. I don’t thrive in winter temperatures, I thrive in the hot Florida sun, slumped into the sand– no towel, no shades, UV at 11. One with the sand. I went days without seeing the sun, and all I could think about was when I’d get to be outside again without feeling frozen to the core. I embraced all the earthy elements I missed into my surroundings, within my style.

Shades of blue represent the ocean, its vastness, stillness and never-ending wonder and mysticism. Green is the embodiment of creation, the perfect balance of giving and taking, manifested. Brown is an underrated color– it’s the roots, the rich soil beneath us, that I love digging my toes in. Beige– it’s the sand, the remnants of a millennia, an inviting sea of minerals on dry land.

I’ve been getting excited thinking about the next hiking trip I’ll make. Living in Florida, I get the urge to be immersed in tall trees, mountains and winding roads. Therefore, every year around this time I’m desperate to go for a good hike and the drive is just as therapeutic. I bought some Salomon sneakers, which pair so well with any outfit.

I felt called to embody these colors into my wardrobe, I’m just a chill girl. *Insert imagery of meme*. This is not a time to be flashy, I can hardly get out of bed. I need the casual, chill and versatile clothes that give me options with my day. I love that collectively, we decided this. Seeing people embrace outdoor clothes brings a sense of camaraderie, we just want to stomp around the earth and admire it. And! You don’t need Salomon’s to get the vibe—but let’s be real, their design is undeniably beautiful. I’m so happy to have a new shoe prospect after years!
